Is This You?

Who Is This For?

Who This Is For:

  • Your law firm does $1M or more a year in revenue.
  • You own the firm or you're one of the partners who does.
  • Your CPA files a clean return every spring, but nobody sits down with you before December to change the number on it.
  • The partners are paid through draws, salary, distributions or a mix, and nobody ever designed that on purpose.
  • The firm works with clients in more than one state, or the partners own real estate, and you're not sure anyone has looked at what that means for your taxes.
  • You want someone to design the strategy and put it in place while you keep practicing law.

This Is Not For:

  • Firms doing under $1M a year.
  • Associates and employees paid on a W-2 who don't own part of the firm.
  • Owners who only want a return filed once a year and nothing else.
  • Anyone hoping to pay less than they owe. Kim's standard is that you pay exactly what you owe, nothing more.

100% Done-For-You

Here's Everything We Do For You

Here's how Kim and her firm handle a law firm's taxes, from the first look at the firm to the filed return.

We Study The Whole Firm First

Before anyone touches a form, we look at how the firm earns, what each partner takes home and how, how the firm is set up legally, what you own and which states you practice in.

We Fix The Entity Structure

We check whether the way your firm is set up still fits the firm you run today, and when a better structure saves tax, we recommend the change and help you make it.

We Redesign How Partners Get Paid

We look at salary, distributions, bonuses and retirement contributions together and set up the mix that leaves the partners with more after tax, instead of a split nobody ever planned.

We Build Retirement Plans For The Owners

We tie the partners' retirement savings to the tax strategy, using tools like cash balance plans and Roth conversions, so the owners put away more while the firm pays less tax.

We Cut State Tax Across State Lines

If the firm works in more than one state, we pin down where it has to file and use sourcing and apportionment to cut state tax the firm doesn't actually owe.

We File It, Or Work With Your CPA

We can be your primary CPA and file the returns ourselves, or keep your current CPA for the filing and coordinate with them so every change lands on the return.

Still On The Fence?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to replace my CPA?+
Not necessarily. Some clients use us as their primary CPA and advisory firm, and others keep their current CPA for the filing while we handle the strategy. When we work alongside your CPA, we coordinate with them so every change shows up on the return the way it was designed.
My CPA files a perfect return. How could I be overpaying?+
A return can be completely accurate and still cost you more than it should. Filing reports the year after it's over, while strategy decides how the partners are paid, how the firm is set up and how revenue is split across states before the year ends. Most firms only ever pay for the filing.
It's already October. Is it too late to change this year?+
No, but the calendar matters. How the partners are paid for the rest of the year, what the owners put into a 401(k) from this year's pay, and the timing of what the firm spends and collects all close for 2026 on December 31st. The savings show up when the return is filed.
How does the guarantee work?+
If your firm doesn't save at least $100K in taxes this year, you don't pay for the strategy work. Kim goes through the exact terms with you in writing before anything starts. The guarantee covers the strategy fee, not return preparation, because the rules CPAs work under don't allow a return fee that depends on the tax result.
What does it cost?+
Kim doesn't publish a price, because the fee depends on the size and setup of the firm. After she sees your numbers, she quotes the fee up front, and it's set in writing in an engagement letter before any work starts, so you know the cost before you commit.
What if the firm practices in more than one state?+
That's where some of the biggest savings hide. Working across state lines often creates tax obligations nobody planned for, and how the firm's revenue is sourced and split between states decides how much state tax you pay. We work out where the firm has to file and look for state tax the firm doesn't actually owe.
Who will I actually work with?+
Kim designs your strategy herself. She's been a CPA since 1990, started the firm in Washington, DC in 2008, and speaks regularly on costly tax mistakes, including to the DC Bar Association.
What should I have ready for the call?+
Have two numbers close by: the firm's revenue so far this year and last year's total tax bill. Last year's return helps too, if it's easy to grab. If not, rough numbers are fine.
One Last Step

Want To Know How Much Your Law Firm Could Keep This Year?

On the strategy call, Kim asks how the firm runs, how the partners are paid and where you practice. Then she points to where the savings are likely hiding and what would need to be in place before December 31st to make them count this year.
